Description

Applications for the Kent Research Institute scholarships will be student-led. Interested students should suggest their own research projects, however they strongly recommend that applicants contact the supervisor/s they have in mind to discuss their research proposal with them in advance of submitting their application.

Kent Institute Research scholars will receive the following:

Annual stipend at UKRI rates (£18,622 in 2023/24);

Annual tuition fees at Home rates (£4,712 in 2023/24).

NOTE: This scholarship call is open to Home applicants. EU and International students are welcome to apply but they must be willing to make up the fee difference between Home and International rates.

Eligibility

  • Academic Supervisors should also liaise closely with the Kent Research Institute academic leads. Academic staff contact details can be found on the relevant School/Department’s website or through Findasupervisor.
  • All projects must be interdisciplinary in nature and require a similarly interdisciplinary supervisory team, however the Institute will help with the formation of such a team.
  • Applications can be made in the following areas: creative technology; arts and health; creative heritage and placemaking; creative education; sustainability and diversity in creative industries.

New students wishing to be considered for a Kent Research Institute iCCi scholarship at Kent must apply for a PhD place at the University of Kent by 20 January.

Applicants should follow the University of Kent’s online application process. As part of the process, you should include the following:

your reasons for study;

your research proposal;

how your research fits with the Kent Research Institute;

details of your qualifications;

two academic references;

other relevant personal information and supporting documentation.
