With just a few exceptions for certain study programmes, students coming from EU/EEA countries can pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree for free, including for an exchange programme. Students who meet the following requirements are also exempt from paying tuition in Danish universities:

  • Have a permanent residence permit or a temporary one that can be upgraded to a permanent residence
  • Have a parent from an EU/EEA country that is working in Denmark

If you’re a student from outside the EU/EEA you should expect tuition fees ranging 6,000 to 16,000 EUR/year.

More specialised study programmes can amount to as much as 35,000 EUR/year.
